La imagen de Santa Claus es un buen motivo para cuestionar la fotografía. Entre los dos ejemplos que aquí aparecen, una ilustración y una fotografía de este personaje, se encuentra la discusión sobre la supuesta "realidad" que sería característica implícita y principal de la fotografía. La foto, diríamos, es la real o cuando menos más real que la ilustración; sin embargo, el personaje de la ilustración es "más real" que el de la fotografía ya que sabemos de la "no existencia" física de este personaje. Luego entonces, entre estos dos ejemplos ¿dónde está lo "real", o mejor dicho, cuál de los dos reproduce lo "real"?
-The image of Santa Claus is a good excuse to question the photograph. Between the two examples shown here, an illustration and a photograph of this character, is the discussion on the alleged "reality" that it would be implied and main chracteristic of photography. The photo, we would say is the real or at least more real than the illustration, but the character of the picture is "more realistic" than the photograph because we know about the "non-existence" physical of the character. So, between these two examples where is the "real", or rather, which of the two plays the "real"?
